Four of a Kind

Uri carries a deck of cards on him at all times. The four aces of this deck are very special to him, because in them he stores the souls he's managed to capture over the years and with those souls he has crafted little demon minions. There are four minions in the deck that go by their obvious names of Spades, Hearts, Diamonds and Clubs. Each of them possesses a different power and each of them can grow and evolve depending on Uri's desperation. Each demon has three forms: a 'squishy' form, a battle form and an ultimate form. Uri has only ever seen one card go ultimate and that was Spades during a time of grief. Uri can only access battle and ultimate forms in severe times of need and most of the time has a hard time holding onto two of them in squishy form. He can only comfortably control one of them at a time and can't switch rapidly between them without feeling severe fatigue.

Spades is the offence card. He can cause damage by biting and scratching in his squishy form. His battle form has the offensive capabilities of a medium sized dog and his ultimate form is stronger and can use minor fire abilities. Hearts is a healer and in his squishy form he can quell pain, slow bleeding and heal minor cuts and bruises. In his battle form he can heal broken bones, prevent pain, and close gashes. In his ultimate form he can heal anything short of a severed limb. He can never bring anyone back from the dead. Clubs is a defensive monster and can slow and hinder movements in his squishy form. In his battle form he can create small shields and deflect certain attacks. In his ultimate stage he can create a barrier around Uri and protect him on all sides and can turn an attack around with ease. Diamonds is a helper pet and can increase Uri's speed in his squishy form. In his battle form he is able to allow Uri to conjure three demons at once (2 in addition to himself, one squishy and one battle) and in his ultimate form he can teleport Uri or allow him to have all four monsters on the field, though only one can be in Ultimate form. For instance, if Ultimate Diamonds is in play, Battle Heats and Battle Clubs can also be on the field, but only Spades can be Ultimate.

As of current, Uri cannot use battle forms of any of his monsters except for Spades. Spades is also the only minion that can currently go ultimate, but this only happens on very rare occasions. The abilities listed here are things he will possibly learn to do or be able to do in the future.

Intellectual and Street-wise

Uri has seen all there is to see and it's made him strong and given him a sense of being very aware of his surroundings. He's quick on his feet and quick with his wit. He can con you out of your shoes and see past your tricks and all with a grin on his face. He doesn't jump into much of anything without thinking it though first and really hates to see others run head first into trouble. Well read and a critical thinker, one of his best traits is his introspect. Even if he doesn't know the answer to something, it isn't hard for him to come to a logical solution to anything. He doesn't let his intellect rule his persona though and much prefers to act the part of a joker with snide remarks and a friendly smirk.

Boisterous and Friendly

Though Uri has the tools at his disposal to drip venom soaked insults in anyone's direction, he's usually a bit more reserved than that. Despite his hard edge and strange demeanor most of the time, he really just wants some friends. He loves showing off his minions and his card tricks and loves doing divinity reads for other people. His passion for cards is one of the few things that keeps him on a personal level. He likes protecting people, maybe it's in his nature for how he was raised, but something about being the hero at the end of the day makes him feel warm and fuzzy. He really is just a kid at heart and would much rather go splash around in the rain that pour over a text book any day. He's a bit irresponsible and doesn't take well to being told what to do and would rather lay in bed all day than do his chores.

Aloof and Broody

Though he would love to be the center of attention all the time, something wont let him entirely out of his shell. Uri does enjoy his alone time to think about the future, the past, and everything beyond and in between. He doesn't have many regrets, but something about being happy all the time and pretending like the world is sunshine and rainbows doesn't feel right to him. He doesn't like people seeing him like this and will often brighten if he's in a bad mood, covering it up with a joke and a grin.

Uri was born into poverty. So much poverty that he and his family were practically homeless-- or they would have been if it weren't for their traveling act-wagon. The small, dilapidated home for four rolled down the streets on creaky wooden wheels, opening up near night clubs and fairs, anywhere the Lockes thought they could get some attention. A tip-only business hardly makes enough to feed a family of four, but it was better than begging and certainly better than nothing. Dad figured the best way to hide their demonic features was to pretend it was all costumes, all smoke and mirrors. A little circus wagon family was all they were, a mother, a father and two sons. Mom was a dancer, Dad played piano and conducted the show. Uri's brother, Tobi, three years older than he was, performed illusions and Uri told fortunes and did card tricks.
They lived this way relatively happily for a while until the wagon gave out on them and wheels could no longer be repaired and tips from their shows dwindled into nothing. Camped out on the side of a river, they tried to take the show to the streets, but in that environment, people seemed to fear them and steered away. Eventually Mom got sick and the two boys set out with their own show, a dazzling sensation of magic and mystic that seemed to captivate audiences. Something about the cobwebs of their parent's show had brushed away to reveal something of wonder. Though it wasn't much, they at least had a cash flow and saved every penny they could to get good medication for their mother-- but it wasn't fast enough. They watched as she faded away and watched as their father grew distant and hopeless.
Dad didn't want to do the show any more, he just wanted to give up. Uri and Tobi were still determined, and while they tried to win the hearts of people on the streets, their dad drifted further and further from them until one day he vanished. The brothers tried everything they could to stay together and stay happy, but money grew tighter and tighter until they were starving on the streets. Though they had always tried to stay away from eating souls, they now turned to attacking and hunting humans and sharing the souls between them.
This behavior soon turned into an addiction and Uri began to hoard the souls, storing the ones he wanted to save for later in the four aces of his deck of cards. He would play with them, manipulate them like chewing gum, and one day, he found that they retained a shape and responded to him. He crafted for himself four small pets from the souls, imprisoned in playing cards. Months later, he and Tobi were out numbered while on a soul raid and Uri called forth his little pets for help. They attacked and bit and scratched at their opponents but seemed relatively ineffective. It wasn't until Tobi was caught on the edge of a knife that the little demons were of any help. At the thought of losing his brother, the last of his family left in this world, Uri experienced rage beyond anything he had felt before and watched as the minion of Spades transformed into a fearsome deamon and warded off the attackers. In awe of his new-found power, Uri dedicated his life to raising them to their full potential.
After almost three years of wandering and conditions refusing to improve, Uri and Tobi decided to go their separate ways, taking their family's slowly crumbling walls as a sign that they needed a change. Tobi went on to find a name for himself, but Uri went on to look for something better. He wanted to grow and learn, wanted to rise up from the ashes of his birth and really BE somebody. He wanted nothing more than to see that monster he had made once more, and to see the others in such a glorious state. That's when he found MC Academy and enrolled immediately, scraping together the last of his cash to afford first tuition.
